Forcejeaban mucho contra el hombre, contra Lot, y se acercaron para romper la puerta. Entonces los hombres extendieron las manos, metieron a Lot en la casa con ellos y cerraron la puerta. Y a los hombres que estaban junto a la puerta de la casa, los hirieron con ceguera, desde el menor hasta el mayor, de modo que se fatigaban por hallar la puerta. Aquellos hombres dijeron a Lot: —¿Tienes aquí a alguien más? Yernos, hijos, hijas; cualquiera que tengas en la ciudad, sácalos de este lugar. Porque vamos a destruir este lugar, por cuanto el clamor de ellos ha llegado a ser grande delante de Jehovah. Por eso Jehovah nos ha enviado para destruirlo. Entonces salió Lot y habló a sus yernos, los que habían de casarse con sus hijas, y les dijo: —¡Levantaos, salid de este lugar, porque Jehovah va a destruir la ciudad! Pero a sus yernos les pareció que bromeaba. Y al rayar el alba, los ángeles apremiaban a Lot, diciéndole: —¡Levántate, toma a tu mujer y a tus dos hijas que están aquí, para que no seas destruido con el castigo de la ciudad! Cuando se detenía, los hombres tomaron su mano, la mano de su mujer y las manos de sus dos hijas, por la misericordia de Jehovah para con él. Lo sacaron y lo pusieron fuera de la ciudad. Y después de haberlos sacado fuera, le dijeron: —¡Escapa por tu vida! No mires atrás, ni te detengas en toda esta llanura. Escapa a la montaña, no sea que perezcas. Lot le dijo: —¡Por favor, no, señor mío! He aquí que tu siervo ha hallado gracia ante tus ojos y has engrandecido tu misericordia que has mostrado conmigo dándome la vida.
