Yeshuah the Messiah - the first and the last.
The Amen says:
I am the rose of Sharon and the Lily of the Valley
REFLECTION I AM ......
FLOWERS AND PLANTS IN THE BIBLE
The Word of God, mentions flowers, plants and trees making analogies and comparisons of the creation of God in the physical and spiritual. I like many of you, I love flowers and a day reading a gardening magazine I first saw a photo of lily of the valley. It's a precious flower that grows only in the most unlikely places as crevices between rocks in the cliffs Jesus Christ is the lily of the valley that is also the only one capable of bringing beauty into the hearts of stone, where he chose to dwell. Thus arose the idea of doing a Bible study about flowers and plants of the Bible. I think you too will be amazed as I was to see their significance in the spiritual context.
"I will open rivers on the heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and springs in the dry land. I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, acacia, myrtle and olive; put in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, to see and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the Lord does this, and the Holy One of Israel has created. " Isaiah 41:18-20
Acacia: This tree grows in the deserts of Sinai and around the Dead Sea. It grows in dry places and can measure up to 7 meters. It gives a beautiful yellow flower. It is a tree that produces thorns.
Cedar: Tree is mentioned many times in the Bible. Hardwood, is often mentioned as the "Cedars of Lebanon". It also grows in the deserts of Sinai.
Myrtles: Native to the Middle East, this tree grows up to 6 feet high. The myrtle is valuable for its fragrant leaves. Da most beautiful white flowers that says is that the fragrant aroma of the rose. Give a purple berries whose medicinal value is recognized in the Middle East.
Olives: One of the most important cultivated trees of Palestine. A single tree provides a family with olive oil that is commonly used instead of butter. If neglected, the olive tree can stop producing fruit. Its flowers are pale yellow with bright yellow center. This evergreen tree bears fruit called olives which have much nutritional value. The olive oil used for lamps in the temple. Also its oil was used for the sanctification of priests, and the vessels of the temple. Today it is used for healing and deliverance of patients.
"Nicodemus, who first came to Jesus by night, came bringing the mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. Took they the body of Jesus and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews. " John 19:39-40
Aloes: also known as aloe, belongs to the family of succulents and sage contains medicinal properties. It is good for burns, skin problems, and bowel problems. Its flowers belong to the lily family, and their flowers are small red and yellow and is golden yellow pistil. The leaves contain aloin which was used to prepare incense and prepare the bodies for burial. Jesus was anointed with the oil of this plant, after his death.
"I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys."
Song of Songs 2:1
Rose of Sharon: The Rose of Sharon was not really a product of the rose, but born of a plant from a bulb. Experts say its scientific name is (Tulipa sharonensis), Tulipa agenensis. This plant grows profusely in the plains of Sharon, between Mount Carmel and Joppa. Its flowers are beautiful, comparable to those we know and tulips blooming in spring. After a winter, the rose of Sharon shines.
Lily of the Valley: Although many flowers in Palestine are called lilies, lilies of the valley can be classified into three types of flowers: Anemone, Iris, Lily and Turkish. From fragrant aroma and striking beauty, the lily of the valley is compared to what Jesus is for the church.
Lily of the valley Lily Lily Iris Turkish
"And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, he came, if perhaps something was in it, but when he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. Then Jesus said to the tree: never No man eat fruit of thee. And his disciples heard it. " Mark 11:13-14
Higuera: The Mount of Olives was famous for their fig. La Higuera is a plant with large green leaves that can be pruned and achieve the height of a tree. The sage of its leaf is known as "burner" of warts, and its fruit has medicinal properties. Animals who are sick as dogs or cats, bite fig leaf for constipation. The fig is mentioned many times in the Bible and the church symbolizes. If the church does not pay when Jesus comes to look into it, Jesus curse. But if you find fruits, bless. (Ficus carica)
"And lying down under a juniper tree, fell asleep, and behold, then an angel touched him and said, Arise and eat." 1 Kings 19:5
Juniper: In the desert of Judea, one of the flowering shrubs is the juniper. It is known as "the broom flowered" desert. It has delicate white flowers with pale pink. Its branches were used for weaving. Its wood makes a long lasting fire with intense heat. As fuel has high value in Egypt.
These are just some of the plants and flowers mentioned in the Bible. We would need many Bible studies embrace everyone. But this shows we can deduce that the nature of God in the Bible reflects the very nature of God. He is the only one able to grow beautiful flowers in the desert. He is the only one able to see something beautiful in the ugliness of sin: His Son Jesus Christ is the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys in us. Although the problems are many, there's a juniper give us shade, and angels who feed us. We have the olive oil that sanctifies us, and God's Word is life to us. Jesus in our hearts is like the fragrant aroma of the most valuable of the flowers.
"I will give the rain of your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, and gather in your grain, your wine and your oil." Deuteronomy 11:14
"The flowers are on earth, the time of singing has come, and our country has heard the voice of the turtle" is a song of songs 2:12
